Bear Bunny Beginnings

The Christmas sugar cookies that started it all…

Hello readers,

Perhaps I should introduce myself. My name is the illustrator. Of course, that isn’t my birth name, but it doesn’t matter who I am. I could be anyone who has an idea.
You start with an idea but sometimes the idea takes on a life of its own.

I started doodling Bear and Bunny as Christmas cookies. Sugar cookies with tiny hats and bulky blue scarfs. I liked them so much that I became obsessed. Bunny, struggling to find headphones that fit those big floppy ears, Bear with a tiny, ill-fitting woollen hat. They were relatable, not perfect, but always up for an adventure. They supported each other, best friends for life.

They started out with pencil doodles in a notebook, and slowly they moved from paper to digital. That’s when things got strange. I saw them moving. I saw them grooving. I saw them coming to life.

If you’re out there and you’re reading this, maybe I’m losing my mind. Or maybe Bear and Bunny have truly come to life and are ready to share their stories and adventures with all of us.
